Traveling Technician
Job Description:
Our Service and Installation Technicians(S.I.T) are responsible for performing the final installation and start up of new pallet, lumber, and firewood kilns at Kiln-Direct.com's customer locations throughout the United States. The S.I.T is also responsible for servicing existing kilns already in operation. This may be done by phone or in person. This job requires knowledge of electrical control systems(PLC, motors, 3 phase electricity, ….etc), and gas burners(natural gas, and propane).
The role of the S.I.T is an integral part of Kiln-Direct.com. Not only are you required to have an extensive working knowledge of Kiln-Direct.com's products, but you are also in many ways the face of the company. Therefore you must possess a wide array of skills both technical and personal. Honesty, Integrity, Politeness, Promptness, and Civility are required at all times. Kiln-Direct.com can and will teach you the technical skills that you will need to perform in your role. However, Kiln-Direct.com will not teach you the personal skills that you will need. If you do not have them by now, you need not apply for the position.
When traveling for Kiln-direct all your travel expenses are covered by the company.
Base salary after training has been completed will be a minimum of $41600 with performance pay that can add 50-80% in additional compensation.
Truck driver - Delivering large equipment to our customers - Oversize
Job Description:
Our Truck drivers are responsible for delivering oversize equipment, industrial kilns/ovens, to our customers' locations throughout the United States. The role of our truck drivers is an integral part of Kiln-Direct.com as you are often the first in-person contact our customers have with our company. Therefore you must possess a wide array of skills both technical and personal. Honesty, Integrity, Politeness, Promptness, and Civility are required at all times. Kiln-Direct.com can and will teach you the technical skills to handle oversize trucking that you will need to perform in your role. However, Kiln-Direct.com will not teach you the personal skills that you will need. If you do not have them by now, you need not apply for the position.
When driving for Kiln-direct all your travel expenses are covered by the company.
Compensation is based on:
- Actual miles driven loaded: Up to $1.25 per mile on the largest loads.
- Actual miles driven empty - heading home: $0.35 per mile.
- Loading/Unloading: Up to $250 per delivery.
- Layover and day rate for working at Expo.
- $25 extra for staying in Sleeper (hotel stay is allowed and expensed).
- Optional work at the company when not making deliveries.
Expected weeks on the road: 3 weeks per month on average.
Average trip distance: East coast all the way to west coast deliveries.
Experience: Oversize and/or flatbed experience is beneficial, but not required.
