Kiln-direct manufactures three types of firewood kilns: Quick, End-loaded and Side-loaded.

The Quick Firewood Kilns are engineered and designed for heat treating and drying firewood as fast as possible. It can meet USDA HT regulation (160F for 75 minutes inside the firewood) in 10-15 hours. When you are drying firewood the specie, thickness, initial and final moisture content will determine how long time it will take, but a rule of thumb is between 24-48 hours.

The Quick Firewood Kilns can either use gas or wood waste as a heating source. We strongly discourage gas for two reason: Cost of gas and Environmental. First it will cost you about $40-$65 to dry a cord of firewood using gas; on the other hand, it will only cost you about 1/5 of a cord of wood waste to dry a cord of firewood (wood waste you are probably already producing in the process of making the firewood).
