Kiln theory and knowledge

Kiln-direct in the news.

There have been several articles written in various lumber and pallet magazines about our customers and Kiln-direct. We hope you will enjoy reading about them and how they have used our kilns to expand their business. We feel fortunate to have been part of their plans and will be looking forward to serving you and your company.

Magazine: Pallet Enterprise, May 2003.
Company: Industrial Pallet in Clarks Hill, IN
Article:
Company Moves to Sterilization Kilns for Treating Pallets for Export (PDF 1.4 MB).
Note: Industrial Pallet was one of our customers for three of our popular end-loaded pallet kiln. Although the design has been improved several times since these early models they are still in operation and each kiln has heat treated more than 3000 loads, which is well over 15-20 years usage in most companies. A testimony to the longevity of our standard kiln design.

Magazine: Timberline, October 2003.
Company: Pallet One, Mocksville, NC
Article: PalletOne Plant Gears Up for Heat-Treating (PDF 1.2 MB).
Note: PalletOne has purchased 10 kilns of our high efficiency model for various locations and we appreciate their confidence in our pallet kiln design and are looking forward to continue serving them.

Magazine: Timberline, June 2006.
Company: Hvalsoe Hardwoods, Conneaut, OH
Article: Exotic Hardwoods Require Exotic Lengths (PDF 0.3 MB).
Note: The story about Hvalsoe Hardwoods is very unique and interesting. Hvalsoe Hardwoods imports unusual hardwoods from Africa and gets it cut in Europe into wide slabs upto 5-6 feet wide. These are brought to the US and dried in one of our small lumber kiln chambers.

Magazine: Timberline, June 2007.
Company: Gebhardt Timber Management, Glascow, MO
Article: Oak Market Prompts Change at Gebhardt (PDF 0.4 MB).
Note: Mike Gebhardt has built a business of managing our natural forestry resource through selective cutting and maximizing profits, which brought him to needing lumber kilns for added value. Mike purchased our first modular lumber kiln placed on a raised foundation with a loading capacity of 24000 bf (55m3). This model also comes with a 30000 bf (70m3) capacity.
