Thank you for visiting our web-site and interest in our kiln systems. We are focused on serving the lumber industry with Small to Mid-size kiln  and enabling small companies to move toward a more value-added product. In addition, we have been fortunate to become the main supplier of Pallet heat treatment kiln for the pallet industry. These two products are very similar and help each other in sharing resources in production, post-sale service, and development costs; this means we are able to serve both industries better at reasonable prices.

Brief History of Kiln-direct.

Niels Jorgensen started Niels Jorgensen Company, the parent company to Kiln-direct.com, in 1994 in an apartment in Wilmington, NC. He based the company on the knowledge and principles gained by working in his Dad's, Valde Jorgensen, company in Denmark. Valde Jorgensen had developed Wooddryer System through the 70's. Niels started his company in 1994 as a completely independent corporation without direct relationship to Wooddryer System. 

The Kiln-direct.com concept was developed in 1996 and brought to life by 1998. We intended to create an information hub for lumber kiln information and a way to purchase lumber kiln equipment for constructing your own kiln. We developed equipment specifially design for the harsh lumber kiln environment and kiln control systems using the latest technology.

Kiln-direct and Wooddryer System remained independent from each other with some technology sharing until 2002, when we merged both companies into the US operation located in North Carolina. This has help raise the level of service while keeping costs in check.

In 2001 we were very fortunate to get involved in producing Pallet Heat Treatment kilns. During the last 5 years Kiln-direct has become the largest supplier of these HT kilns with well over 300 unit installed. The workhorse of our kilns is our end-loaded pallet kiln models and later expended with a side-loaded pallet kiln model.

In 2006 as the pallet kiln market saturated we were looking for a complimentary product in a market segment we believed was underserved. We decided that through our kiln technology in equipment and controls we could bring a special kind of value to the small lumber kiln market. We developed a true industrial small lumber kiln with 8000 bf loading capacity, which due to its complete design that is delivered as one unit has become a great success. This product was expanded into a modular lumber kiln design with capacity up to 30000 bf.
