Communication Networking Home Tech support Control Manuals and Instructions

Kiln-direct uses generally two types of communication methods: Hardline and Wireless. The Hardline is a serial connection using the RS422 protocol, which allows upto 3000-4000 ft distances. The Wireless connection is also a serial protocol using two transmitter/receivers with either a 900 Mhz or 2.1 Ghz signal. The wireless can normally reach 1-2 miles with direct line of sight and about 1500 ft indors, this can be extended with better antennas. On a few occasions the wireless will not work due to local interference.
