The benefits of building your own lumber kiln have greatly diminished as Kiln-direct has become increasingly efficient in building complete and modular lumber kilns. In addition, we have expanded our line of complete kilns to include more versions. The small lumber kiln start at 8000 bf capacity and the largest modular lumber kiln loads 30000 bf. This is naturally loading capacity with 4\/4 lumber using 3/4" sticks and a normal (realistic) loading pattern.

Should you still be interested in building your own kiln we have found that the back wall design is the best solution. It has the following benefits:

• Back wall comes with all components (except main fan header) pre-installed and pre-wired.
• Main fan header comes custom built for your kiln chamber's width with fans and motors installed.
• It includes a one day on-site installation assistant and training.
• Few mistakes are possible when compared to installing individual components.
• Your construction crew does not need to understand technical kiln theory/design to build and construct a chamber. Plus we come and inspect work.
